Lafayette Lodge No. 34 — La Grange, Texas. Preserving the Light Across Generations.

Lafayette Lodge No. 34, La Grange, Texas — moon phases above a Texas Hill Country sunset, with the Square and Compasses centered in the full moon. Preserving the Light Across Generations.

We are stewards of a craft older than the state we serve — a fraternity of builders, gathered in La Grange since the Republic of Texas gave way to the Union.

Brotherhood, Relief, and Truth.

Three principles have guided our work since the day our charter was granted. They are the measure by which the lodge — and each brother within it — is built.

I

Brotherhood

A fellowship of men of every station, bound by mutual obligation and the slow work of friendship cultivated across decades.

II

Relief

Quiet, sustained charity to widows, orphans, and brothers in distress — the oldest and most enduring labor of the craft.

III

Truth

The patient study of moral philosophy, history, and the symbolic working tools by which a man improves himself.

Membership

The door is older than the question.

Freemasonry asks something of a man before it offers anything in return. We welcome inquiries from men of good character who seek to improve themselves and contribute to their community.

  • Belief in a Supreme Being

A Note to the Visitor

If the moon rises again tonight over the hills west of town, someone here will remember why.

We keep the journals, the photographs, the minutes, and the cornerstones — not as relics, but as a working inheritance.
